Obama vs Romney: A Useless Battle

A Useless Battle

Assuming everyone knows of the recent "String of attacks" passed between Obama and Romney, I just want to talk about how useless this entire thing is. I'll try to be as un-biased as possible.

Election year is a major phenomenon in any country. The masses pick their candidate to "guide" them and their country to greatness and glory. Of course, if its a president like Obama, things only get harder.

Not to say he's a bad president; ending Don't ask Don't Tell, investing in cleaner energy and bringing troops back home from Afghanistan were some of his achievements in the past few years.

But the problem with Obama is that he hasen't done enough to warrant another term. A major blow to his re-election campaign was the passing of the Obamacare mandate. Despite heavy opposition, the new law passed Congress and will be enacted in 2014 unless shot down by the Republicans.

Speaking of Rebublicans, enter Mitt Romney. Sheesh, where to begin. The latest development is his refusal to reveal all of his tax returns. And as many news sources put it, Mitt has a personality disorder. Not to mention some of his comments that appear to elevate his position higher than it is or his reckless view towards overseas war.

All this is fine and dandy, but recent news shows (CNN, FOX, almost every news channel/paper) talks about what one personhas said to another and how the other will interpret this "attack". Both parties have been running advertisements discrediting the each other.

Which brings us to my point. This constant fighting between Obama and Romney, Democrats and Republicans is getting quite irritating. Everyday we hear that one of them said something here in this speech, what did he mean by that? How will the other guy take it? Is this an all time low in our elections?

And why must the mainstream media focus so much on such trivial matters? Why not work out the differences and figure out a plan for the future? Every minute spent talking about nonsense like this is a minute lost.

I only hope for a future when there are NO parties and every desicion is mutually agreed upon and thoroughly thought out with enough emphasis given to getting the public's opinion. That, is all.
